Forever Active
Forever Active Cambridgeshire
Dear ,

Chairman’s Message

Our Forever Active classes are great, aren’t they? They can act as a focus for your fitness regime – but just attending one of our classes is insufficient to meet all of your exercise needs.

If you look at guidelines from the Government’s Chief Medical Officer you should be aiming to achieve at least 2-3 hours a week of exercise – not just a one hour Forever Active class. There are lots of things you might consider
  • Doing a second class
  • Doing a zoom class
  • Practising what you learn in class at home
  • Do your best to avoid long periods of sitting and being inactive
  • Remember to mix your work-outs to include exercises that help to:
    • build and maintain your general strength
    • improve stamina
    • improve your balance & co-ordination
Please talk to your current instructor about what might be the best route for you to achieve your exercise goals.

Instructor News

Every year Marlene chooses one week, a colour and a charity to support and all of her exercise classes get involved to raise money. This year Marlene selected the colour yellow and class members from all three of her Forever Active classes, got involved by dressing up in yellow to help raise money towards the Ukraine appeal.

Marlene
Marlene has delivered Strength & Balance and Exercise to Music classes on behalf of Forever Active for over 15 years. As well as raising money for the Ukraine appeal this year, she has been celebrating a big birthday with her family and friends.

This is Marlene's message to her class members. "Thank you for donating to my charity week and being great sports by wearing yellow, getting involved and having fun! Make sure you always enjoy the exercise classes that you choose and use your new gained fitness to enhance your enjoyment in everyday life.”

Editor’s Appeal

Dear Members,

I am looking for some help from your good selves on two fronts. Firstly, from those who have visited the Forever Active website, I would like your feedback on how you found the experience. We are continually updating the site and looking to make improvements as well. With this in mind, I have decided to open up the debate to our users on what refinements to make. Please let me have your comments by emailing enquiries@forever-active.org.uk. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

My second request is for assistance in finding a volunteer photographer. We try to brighten up our pages, be they posters, newsletter or website with interesting, good quality class action photographs. Unfortunately, those we have are well past their “sell by” dates and need updating. Sadly, a hasty shot taken with a smartphone camera during a class, most times will not suffice and the cost of hiring a professional photographer is prohibitive.

If you are a keen photographer or know someone who is and are prepared to volunteer your services, please contact us by emailing enquiries@forever-active.org.uk.

Again, many thanks for your help.
