Forever Active Cambridgeshire
Dear [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber],
From the Chair of Forever Active

As you will be aware, things have been very difficult for all of us over the past year. Forever Active continues to follow the government guidelines regarding everyone’s safety and well-being, and we are working hard to get classes restarted by September if not earlier, though probably with reduced numbers at most venues.

The income from class fees normally meets most of the costs of putting on classes, so having fewer participants is an important reason for the increase.

It is several years since Forever Active last increased class fees, and the Board of Directors/Trustees has agreed to raise the weekly fee to members from £4 to £5 per session. A free taster session is still offered to non-members, and then a guest fee of £6 per session for a trial period. The new fees will start from 1st September 2021.

You will be pleased to know that the annual membership fee will remain at £15, though we do appreciate it enormously if you are also able to make a small donation. Please also remember to tick your gift aid box if you pay tax as we rely on this annual funding.

Get ready to return to exercise

Exercise class
We know you are all keen to get going and return to the classes you love and have missed over the last months. However, it is important to recognise that it’s been a year since you have done any properly structured exercise.

You may not be as fit as you were and have found that your usual activity levels have reduced. Or you’ve had to change the type of exercise you do through home workouts or online classes.

Vacancies Board of Directors/Trustees

Due to recent changes to the management structure of Forever Active, there are three vacancies for members of the Board of Directors/Trustees.

The Forever Active Team is looking for candidates with a mix of experience and skills who are willing to commit to promoting physical activity to older adults. The Board is particularly interested in candidates who have an extensive local network and excellent communication and/or fundraising, financial management, legal, governance IT and marketing skills.

The Board has quarterly meetings; a small management group meets in the intervening months, while marketing and publicity groups meet on an ad hoc basis. The Trustees are responsible for controlling the work, management and administration of this charity on behalf of its beneficiaries.

If you are interested and want to know more, please contact the Chair c/o
